Sean Ryan, M.D.

Dr. Sean Ryan earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Loyola University Chicago and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of California, San Diego. He is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Over the course of more than 20 years in medical practice, Dr. Ryan’s career has spanned private practice, community psychiatry, addiction treatment, and healthcare leadership. He has maintained a private practice, served as a provider and Medical Director for treatment centers, worked as a consultant and liaison within the Scripps network, and provided mental health care to San Diego’s unhoused community through his work with the county. 

By combining intentional psychopharmacology with psychotherapy, Dr. Ryan is able to serve patients with complex needs and diagnoses including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, cognitive or attention problems, eating disorders, stress, relationship struggles and personality/interpersonal issues.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ryan enjoys spending time with loved ones, traveling and exploring the great outdoors.
