Licensed Occupational Therapist

As a licensed occupational therapist, certified yoga therapist and mindfulness based meditation teacher, Shauna specializes in stress and pain management. Yoga and meditation have been at the center of her therapeutic approach to helping others find their inner ability to heal and transform, and strengthen the nervous and glandular systems.

Shauna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, which treats patients holistically with emphasis on bringing balance into all aspects of daily living. She continued her education at Loyola Marymount University, where she completed her yoga therapy training, has studied with various teachers of the Kundalini Yoga lineage, and is a certified primordial sound meditation teacher through the Chopra Center. Shauna has also received training from UCSD’s Center for Mindfulness.

Beyond structural alignment instruction, Shauna assists clients at True Life in engaging their whole being on their journey to mental health and wellbeing. She utilizes Restorative Yoga for its profound nervous system benefits, the prescriptive kriya’s of Kundalini Yoga, and pranayam (breathing exercises) for its powerful emotional and energy balancing properties. Shauna is a skilled practitioner who works compassionately with her clients to develop self care practices that can readily be integrated into their comprehensive treatment at True Life.
