Licensed Occupational Therapist

As a licensed occupational therapist and certified yoga therapist, Shauna has been working in the healthcare and wellness field for over 25 years. As a mindfulness based meditation teacher, she specializes in stress and pain management. Yoga and meditation have been at the center of her therapeutic approach to helping others find their inner ability to heal and transform. Shauna believes yoga provides advanced technology to strengthen the nervous system and support the glandular system necessary in our current fast paced world.

Beyond structural alignment instruction, Shauna assists clients in engaging their whole being on their journey to health and wellbeing. She utilizes Restorative Yoga for its profound nervous system benefits, the prescriptive kriya’s of Kundalini Yoga and pranayam (breathing exercises) for its powerful emotional and energy balancing properties. Shauna is a skilled practitioner who works compassionately with her clients to develop the necessary self care practices so they can integrate independently.

Shauna is an early adopter of holistic medicine, having received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (OT). OT treats patients holistically with emphasis on bringing life balance and independence to all aspects of daily living. She is also a life long learner who studied with Guru Rattana for Kundalini Yoga Level 1 certification and KRI Level 2 Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. She completed yoga therapy training at Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Studies Program and is a certified primordial sound meditation teacher from the Chopra Center. Shauna has also received training from UCSD’s Center for Mindfulness and is currently a faculty member for their youth and family programming in mindfulness and mindful self compassion.
