Program Director

Anissa Bell believes it is crucial to align with every patient wherever they are on the road to healing by compassionately supporting their goals. As the clinical coordinator at True Life Center for Wellbeing, she feels inspired by the brave patients who come to seek treatment and loves to help them along the path of recovery by developing a personalized plan for each individual.

A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Anissa has a broad range of experience in the mental health field, particularly in assessing and collaborating with patients to determine the clinical needs and course of treatment best suited to them. She enjoys working with families and loved ones to cultivate a nurturing, healthy, and sustainable recovery network. Through the years, Anissa has worked with children, adolescents, couples, and individuals in both residential and outpatient settings. She was involved in the University of Central Florida SMH Together Project at the UCF Marriage and Family Research institute, where she worked to reinforce the marriage education curriculum for couples involved in the research study. She then went on to practice in a residential setting for children and adolescents with severe mental health and addiction issues. Once in San Diego, she worked as Director of Admissions for several years at a holistic-based facility focused on mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and addiction recovery, as well as dual diagnosis.

Anissa has developed a passion for understanding the mind-body connection and sharing that awareness with clients, as this can provide profound insight into their healing and growth processes. That is one of the many reasons she is so excited to work with the team at True Life, where practitioners understand and utilize both traditional clinical approaches and holistic modalities to create a customized path to lifelong wellness for every client.

Originally from Florida, Anissa spent many years working for a pharmaceutical company before leaving the corporate world to pursue a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. Anissa moved to California in 2010 after years of visiting and falling in love with San Diego, and she’s happy to call it her home now.
