Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Amanda Hibshman is an award winning Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who works with predominantly with those struggling with disordered eating and/or behavioral and mental health issues, in addition to active duty and wounded military members. At True Life she assists our patients in finding the root-cause of their nutritional dilemmas so they can find lasting solutions to their health.
Amanda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Food Science from San Diego State University, and went on to complete her dietetic internship through the VA Medical Center in La Jolla, CA. During her time at the VA her focus was geared heavily towards clinical Medical Nutrition Therapy in an inpatient setting. Here, she honed her expertise in treating gastrointestinal disorders, and providing sports nutrition and diabetes management services.
Throughout her career, she has served on the board of several non-profit and professional organizations, most notably in the role of President for the San Diego Chapter of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Amanda especially enjoys helping others discover pleasure in eating and preparing meals, and strives to spark a similar passion in those she works with. In her one on one work with our patients, she emphasizes the complex role that diet plays in physical and mental health, and creates individualized meal plans that are both nutritive and supportive of the healing process.
