Shaunie Hewell finds passion and purpose in helping others to navigate challenges, build resilience, conceptualize change, and embrace new perspectives. She believes in the healing potential of collaborative therapeutic relationships, and uses a strength-based approach that empowers patients to utilize their innate resourcefulness and positive attributes to overcome adversity.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, Shaunie works with couples, families, and individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, addiction, behavioral issues, and relationship problems. She is also a skilled meditation instructor, and utilizes mindfulness to promote focus, acceptance, and awareness on the recovery journey.
Shaunie completed her postgraduate degree at the University of San Diego, and joins True Life after gaining significant experience treating patients with co-occurring disorders in a local Intensive Outpatient Program. In both her professional and personal life, she has witnessed the strength of the mind-body connection, and is thrilled to be working with a group of practitioners committed to comprehensive healing of the whole individual – mind, body, and spirit.
