Dr. Tate-Gould is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in substance use, mood and anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, developmental challenges, and grief. She combines a cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approach with Somatic Experiencing, a highly effective, body-oriented approach to healing trauma. The importance of the mind-body connection, which is central to somatic psychotherapy and to True Life Center’s treatment philosophy, aligns perfectly with Dr. Tate Gould’s personal conceptualization of holistic, solution-oriented care. She is delighted to work alongside the dynamic team of practitioners at True Life to help patients achieve whole health.
Since receiving her Doctorate of Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Irvine, California, Dr. Tate-Gould has worked in a variety of treatment facilities for both adolescents and adults. Most recently, she served as Clinical Director at a treatment facility in Orange County, California, where she became well versed in attachment theory, trauma resolution approaches and systems theory. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tate-Gould is committed to helping advance the field through research. She has published research regarding self-injurious behaviors as a process addiction, and has presented at the National Conference on Addiction Disorders and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
