At True Life, we understand that an individual’s struggles with emotional turmoil and/or mental health issues can have a wide-reaching impact, affecting loved ones, friends, and colleagues. Sometimes, longstanding family dynamics can worsen or intensify these struggles and make it difficult to move forward and break the patterns that are standing in the way of someone reaching his or her true potential.
If you and your loved one are ready to take the first key steps in the process of changing these destructive patterns, the caring, experienced team at True Life is ready to help. Together, we will work with all of the people involved in your difficult situation to develop new ways of understanding and handling the issues at hand. Our center’s combination of holistic and psychotherapeutic approaches to treatment will enable us to craft a plan tailored to your specific needs, and we will provide you with the skills and tools to step outside of the vicious cycle and revitalize your relationships.
Family Program Overview
Our dedicated staff is versed in the treatment of a wide array of psychological and emotional issues, including anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, addiction, ADHD, grief and loss, chronic pain, and PTSD. Equipped with the knowledge of how to tackle these issues in individual therapy, we will work with anyone affected by them who wishes to be involved so that you can change the underlying dynamics and behavioral patterns that are interfering with everyone’s wellbeing. We will teach you to improve communication, which is a crucial skill for navigating and nurturing relationships. We will educate you on the nature of the issue at hand, training you to recognize warning signs and triggers that could cause a situation to escalate or push someone over the edge. There are numerous techniques of relieving stress, all of which can help to create an atmosphere of cooperation and harmony. And just as importantly, we will guide you in finding ways to make self-care a priority.
We offer two types of treatment:
1. Family Sessions.
These are ongoing weekly sessions with patients and their families or loved ones or colleagues–anyone who is affected by the issue at hand and who wants to be part of the journey to healing and happiness.
2. Family weeks.
This type of treatment program involves short-term, intensive work for a week while your loved one is participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Additionally, we can design an a la carte program for the families of individuals who aren’t in the IOP program.
